You've probably heard the saying that the only two certainties in life are death and taxes. Well, April 30th is the deadline to file personal income taxes in Canada.
So what sort of person are you? Are you the type that keeps diligent records all year long so that tax time is a breeze? Perhaps you use accounting software to automate the process and even use a tax software package to file your own tax returns?
Or are you the kind of person that is in a mad scramble each year to find your paperwork and your receipts, and are rushing wildly just to get your return in right before the deadline?
Now, let's think about how you prepare for the other certainty in life.
Are you the sort of person that recognizes that life is a "limited time offer"? Do you accept your mortality and use that acceptance to govern how you live your life? Are you careful to ensure that you are living each moment to its fullest potential? Does your awareness of your own mortality motivate you to always make sure that your thoughts, words and actions are constantly moving you in the direction of your dreams? (If you are interested, you can use the Mortality Manifesto to become more like this sort of person.)
Or are you the kind of person that is going to be in a mad scramble at the end of your life... trying to do all the things that you never did and say all the things that you never said?
Happy tax day everyone!
ENJOY NOW!
