On March 31, 2006, the CBC News ran a story with the following headline: "Cancer drug debate: What's 6 more months of life worth?"
The first paragraph of the story sums up the issue as follows: "The high cost of many new cancer drugs has doctors, patients and health-plan administrators debating how much should be spent to give people a few extra months of life."
What if you were faced with that choice?
I want you to imagine that you have a terminal illness and are presented with an option that would extend your time on earth by six months. How much would YOU pay for six more months of life?
What would you do with those extra six months? I really want you to spend a few moments thinking about that question.
What... would you do... with the last six months of your life?
And now I want to leave you with a final thought for the week. Why would you need six months to accomplish things that you could be doing RIGHT NOW, if only you'd begin to embrace your mortality?
