At one of my recent book signings, I had a chance
to talk with Andree. She and her husband Greg had
read my book two weeks earlier and they found that
facing their mortality was a hard thing to do. But
Andree assured me that they are up for the
challenge.
She told me that each morning for the last two
weeks Greg would turn to her and ask "So what are
you going to do with your last day?"
I LOVE IT! That simple, yet very heavy question
serves the same purpose for them as my barcode
tattoo does for me. It reminds us that there is
no guarantee that today isn't your last day on
earth and it challenges us to live
accordingly.
Greg has truly begun to tap into the Power of
Mortality because Andree told me that during a
disagreement Greg called a "time out" and asked her:
"Is this really how we want to spend our last day
together?"
Powerful stuff!
Now imagine if more of us took that approach to
our daily lives and to our daily conflicts. How
much better would our lives be?
Imagine if our political leaders and governments
took the same approach? How much better would our
world be?
So...What are YOU going to do with your
last day?
ENJOY NOW!

The fact of the matter is that while you probably won't die today, no one on earth can make that guarantee. None of us has any certainty when it comes to life and death. The only thing we can be certain about is right now.
That makes now a pretty powerful moment, doesn't it?
