When was the last time you did only one thing?
Our modern society is obsessed with activity. Move, move, move. Go, go, go. We are always "doing something". It's all about action.
We've confused activity with productivity. The more you "do" the more productive you must be - right?
We develop all sorts of technology to allow us to do many things at once. We've even come up with a new word, "multi-tasking", to describe the chaos. We can watch DVD movies just about anywhere. We can bring our music anywhere. Our kids can play video games anywhere. We are constantly connected to our e-mail, our voice-mail and, of course, there is the cell phone. Last week at the airport, I actually saw a man talking on his cell phone while he was using the public restroom. Do we really need to be that "productive"?
When was the last time you did only one thing? When is the last time you concentrated on one thing and only one thing? You weren't thinking about something else. You allowed no distractions. You were focused.
For the next two minutes, please give yourself the gift of presence by doing ONLY one thing.
ENJOY NOW!
