I read an interesting article this week that suggested the following:

"Throughout life, every four weeks or so, the entire outer layer of our skin is replaced with new cells. Approximately every 2 months, practically every cell in our heart muscle is rebuilt; and within a one-year period, our entire bone structure replaces. One year from this very moment, practically every cell in our body will have been replaced with a new cell. Scientists have confirmed that 98 percent of the atoms in our body were not there a year ago. Thus, one year from today, every one of us will have a new body!!!"

Now I'm not sure of the accuracy of the science, but the article prompted me to think about two different kinds of people.

First, I know some people who take nearly a full year to formulate an opinion or make a decision! They are too paralyzed by fear to be able to move forward. They want to have every possible contingency figured out before they make any final decisions.

Second, I know some people who seem to NEVER change. Even though every cell in their body will have changed after a year or so, they still insist on holding on to old thoughts, beliefs and patterns of acting. They let what has happened in the past dictate what will happen today and in the future.

In both cases I have only one thing to say: "How sad!" Why do some of us choose to live stuck in a world of fear or a world of regret when all it takes to be free is to live right now?

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single minute before starting to improve the world.
