Don't you sometimes wonder why books on self
development are so long? Do we really need 200-300
pages on "how to be happy"? A wise man once
said "happiness is simple". I also believe that life is
simple. Don't we ultimately all want a happy life?
Deep down inside, I believe that everyone has an
idea of what they need to do to be happy and
successful yet we can't get ourselves to do it. We
stay in careers and relationships that suck the life
out of us instead of making energizing choices. I
suggest we get back to a few basic principles in all
areas of our lives.
Let's consider this simple 3 step process:
1. Simplify and Focus: Set your life priorities and
focus your attention on achieving your desired
results;
2. Design and Align: Design a path towards your
desired life priorities by aligning your attitude, skills,
knowledge, and action habits to achieve your goals;
3. Savour the Journey: Live each moment with
gratitude and enjoy the view. It may be your last
chance to do so. (This is what Patrick frequently
refers to as 'Mindful Awareness.')
Maybe life is that simple? Not easy - but
simple.
If you aren't getting the results you want, find
someone that can help you.
